Eighth Grade

Curriculum at a Glance

Students in Eighth Grade receive instruction in Religion, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Health, and Social Studies.  Weekly instruction is also provided in Art, Music, Health, Spanish, and Physical Education. Courses are delivered through a departmentalized model, allowing students to learn from subject-area teachers.

English Language Arts curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, media literacy, and analytical writing skills. Students learn to evaluate textual evidence, analyze arguments, strengthen grammar, and develop reading and communication skills in preparation for high school.

Science emphasizes Order and Organization and is organized into three core domains: Physical Earth, Species and Reproduction, and Forces and Motion. Throughout the year, students engage in hands-on scientific inquiry and engineering design to deepen their understanding of scientific concepts.
