Art, Music, Technology, Spanish, and Physical Education
Art
Art education at Saint Christine School is based on the belief that all students are creative and that creativity supports learning in all areas. Students in grades K–8 attend art class once per week, where they explore the elements and principles of design using a variety of media such as paint, clay, collage, and ink. Aligned with Ohio and national standards, the program develops self-expression, creativity, visual perception, and critical thinking through both independent and collaborative projects.
Music
The study of music encourages critical thinking and problem solving and teaches principles of organization. Music provides an avenue for self-expression, creativity, and personal achievement. The study of music also promotes cultural awareness, which is essential if students are to become strong contributors to their society. Saint Christine School has a music education program for all grades from kindergarten to the eighth grade. Students are introduced to vocal music and music theory throughout the school year.
Technology
Technology is organized around core strands that support digital literacy and 21st-century learning. These include empowering students as learners who take an active role in setting and achieving goals; promoting digital citizenship through safe, legal, and ethical technology use; and developing knowledge construction skills by curating and evaluating digital resources. Students also grow as innovative designers who use technology to solve real-world problems, computational thinkers who break down problems using logical and algorithmic steps, and creative communicators who express ideas effectively using a variety of digital tools and platforms.
Physical Education
Physical education at Saint Christine School promotes social growth, teamwork, and the development of lifelong healthy habits. It also helps students learn to use leisure time in meaningful, productive, and enjoyable ways during school and beyond. The curriculum is aligned with the Ohio Physical Education Model for Competency-Based Education, the National Standards for Physical Education, and other professional benchmarks for best practice. Physical education is required for all students in grades K–8.

Spanish
Spanish introduces students to a second language, building a strong foundation for future language learning and communication skills. Through listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities, students develop basic proficiency while gaining an appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures. The program supports cognitive development, strengthens overall communication skills, and prepares students for continued language study in middle and high school.
