Sixth Grade
Curriculum at a Glance
Students in sixth grade receive instruction in Religion, English Language Arts, Reading/Literature, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Health, with weekly classes in Art, Music, Technology, Spanish, and Physical Education. Instruction is delivered through a combination of homeroom (self-contained) and departmental classes.
Sixth-grade social studies focuses on the Eastern Hemisphere, where students study the regions, peoples, and early history of Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe through the strands of History, Geography, Government, and Economics.
In Religion, students connect learning to the Catholic faith by exploring human dignity, global responsibility, and living out Gospel values while recognizing God’s presence across cultures and history.
Science focuses on Earth, physical, and life science, including atomic structure, cells, Earth’s history, and energy. Social and emotional learning is integrated throughout the curriculum, helping students build collaboration, responsibility, perseverance, and respect during hands-on learning.
